The End Of Lease SALE@Chippendale Studio

Some of you may know it already, but I am moving to Umina Beach as my studio in Chippendale was bought and my lease ended. It is very sad feeling because I put a lot of effort to create the space from scratch.

Anyway, I am having “The End Of Lease Sale” on 11th (Fri) & 12th (Sat) from 11am to 5pm at my chippendale studio.[Shop3, 28-32 Pine St, Chippendale] If you have free time, please pop in and say good bye to me!

1 day Workshop

Workshop time!

It has been a while since I did the last workshop in November 2010.

I will have 2 different workshops this time. One is ‘Draw your own design’ and the other is ‘Hand build with porcelain – imprint technique’

Draw your own design!

Date: 27th (SAT) August   Time: 11am – 12:30 pm

           29th (MON) August   Time: 6 pm – 7:30 pm

Cost: $65 (includes 1 bowl, glaze, drawing materials, and firing fee)

Bring: your own design/drawings

Minimum 4, Max 6 people

This workshop is very simple, but relaxing way of making your own designed bowl! (Rather than battling with clay on a wheelJ) You will use ceramic pencil, cobalt, and iron oxide to decorate on Keiko’s handmade porcelain bowl. You will learn how to dip glaze a bowl after decoration.

Don’t worry, even if you cannot draw, there are lots of ways to decorate a bowl.

Hand build with porcelain – Imprint

          28th (Sun) August  Time:11am – 1:00 pm

Cost: $70 (includes 300g porcelain clay, glaze, imprint materials, and firing fee)

Bring: towel, anything textured*

(example – Doily, bamboo sushi mat, stamps etc,.)

*No necessary to bring them if you don’t  have them.

Minimum 4, Max 6 people

Many people might have seen Keiko’s salt dishes at the market. It is made from porcelain, very thin with texture. Keiko will show you how to make salt dishes, as well as other small objects. You can make WHATEVER you like such as small cup, spoon, or broaches. (e.g. You can make 12 salt dishes with 300g porcelain)

Keiko will fire your work twice and will also glaze it (clear only) so that you can pick up your work following week.

It is a great opportunity for those who wanted to try porcelain clay.

Both workshop will be held at Keiko’s studio at Shop3, 28-32 Pine st, Chippendale.

For booking, please call or email me to; keiko.matsui@hotmail.com

Studio/Gallery open NOW + Eveleigh Artisans’ Market, back in 3rd July

My baby was born on the 30st April. I had very hard labour, however we both healthy now.

I won’t be able to participate in the Eveleigh Artisans’ Market in June as I am still recovering from the birth and not enough work to bring.

However the Pine St Studio&Gallery is open on every Saturday in June as usual, and I will definitely be back at the Eveleigh Artisans’ Market on the 3rd July! I look forward to seeing you all :-D
